European Counter Kleptocracy Cell
In the background of wars, mass atrocities and other human rights violations, corruption and other financial incentives are to be found. These tragedies persist because the perpetrators are rarely held accountable.
In this project, the Sentry wants to map the financial and operational activities of transnational paramilitary groups with links to Europe and help institutions develop new tools to protect the European financial system from abuse.
The Postcode Foundation supports this project with SEK 6 000 000.
What does the project deliver?
A report presenting the results of the investigations is published and presented to banks, policymakers and authorities, so that they in turn can take action.
Why do we support this project?
By engaging policymakers and global banks to prevent transactions linked to wars and conflicts, the project helps reduce the economic incentives to profit from and during horrifying conflicts.
