Better future for kids and youths through sports

On of the the most prominent socioeconomic challenges in South Africa today is high unemployment among youth. School of Hard Knocks aims to tackle these issues by running programmes that use sport to help school children at risk of exclusion to complete their matric and find a positive onward pathway. They work with girls and boys at risk of exclusion or disengagement from school or low educational attainment.

What the project delivers

A 38-week programme at four schools in Cape Town, and  development of a long-term strategy for the organization’s work.

Why we support this project

Through making it possible for more youths to finish school, there is a lower risk for unemployment, social exclusion and poverty.
