Educate health workers in Liberia
One billion people in the world lack access to health care because of long distances to health care facilities. Because of this, many people die from treatable conditions. In Liberia, about 1.2 million people live longer than 5 kilometers from the nearest health clinic. Combined with a lack of educated health professionals, health indicators are amongst the lowest in the world, including high maternal and infant mortality rates. In this project, local health workers are trained to provide care to those living in the most remote areas.
