ONSIDE
Lack of gender equality is a challenge, both in society and in the world of sports. Women and girls are often underrepresented as participants, leaders and managers in the sports sector. Women’s organizations at the local level are often underfunded with limited access to important networks where they can exchange experiences, increase their capacity, gain knowledge or strengthen their own organization.
Sport can be an important tool for increased gender equality and work that can challenge gender norms, foster self-confidence among participants and act as a platform where young women can learn about their rights. In this project, the Postcode Foundation wants, together with Women Win, to strengthen local women-led organizations that work for women’s rights with sports as a method, to strengthen support and education and provide opportunities for exchanges of experience.
The Postcode Foundation supports the project with SEK 2,810,000.
What the program delivers
In the first part of the project, Women Win will build up local reference groups that aim to provide local actors with knowledge. In the second part, other organizations are given the opportunity to apply for support for local initiatives that contribute to increased gender equality. In the third phase, Women Win organizes webinars focusing on the exchange of experience and training.
