Good Health and Climate Action through Sport

Kick4Life aims to improve the health of young people in Lesotho, and to reduce their vulnerability to the health impacts of climate change. The program includes a holistic and integrated sport-based curriculum that addresses key topics facing Lesotho youth including: HIV prevention, sanitation & hygiene, nutrition and improving access to health services through partner referrals.

The project will empower participants to achieve improved health and motivates them to take action that will protect the long-term health of people and the environment. There is also a strong gender equality and life-skills component to support the transition from knowledge acquisition to lasting changes in behaviour.

The project is supported with 2 500 000 SEK.

What the project delivers

The Ministry of Health, with the collaboration of the football coaches involved in the project, will educate almost 10,000 young people on important topics involving their health.
