Jozi Gold

The mining industry is one of the world’s most influential businesses. In the autumn of 2018, WG Film will release Jozi Gold , a documentary exposing the vast environmental and health consequences Johannesburg is facing after decades of a booming gold mining industry . The main character of the film is grandmother and activist Mariette Liefferinck, who we follow on her journey from a housewife, to becoming one of South Africa’s most influential people in Africa’s mining industry. Alongside the release of the film, Filmmakers Freedom of Speech & Impact will together with WG Film launch an outreach campaign, which will be focused on two main geographical areas, South Africa and Sweden.
